Changed Scenes

Because of the setback in filming, the new location has required some scenes to be changed.

 

One of these scenes was when Amy is putting on her coat and leaving the house, next seen walking down a lane. However, as this was the only day Bethany could make, it meant that Scott was now the person who was seen leaving the house and walking down a lane. This was because the audience later sees Amy knocking on the door of Scott's house and them then walking off - Bethany would not be able to make the day of filming at Scott's house. Also, because I live in the middle of a town, it is now a pavement that they are seen walking down - not a lane. However, this has been turned to an advantage because it displays Ben's chivalry and how he is willing to make the effort because he wants to see her so much.

 

The scene showing Ben and Amy walking across a field has had to be cut because my garden does not have enough open areas of grass. However, the lighting of my garden created a good glow at the nighttime, so we filmed in the dark for some scenes.

Day of Filming

Unfortunately, on the day of filming our car would not start, making it impossible to film at the location that I have been planning. Also, as this day was the only one where both Scott and Bethany were available, I have had to adjust scenes in order to be able to film as much as I can at home.

My bedroom is now Bethany's room, and she is also using our bathroom. The clips which were originally going to be filmed in a field have been filmed in my garden.

I do not have a brother and so on another day I will have to go to Scott's house and use his room and bathroom, as ours are too feminine.

However, an advantage of the car breaking down has been that for the scenes showing Bethany's fragility, I have filmed from my attic looking down upon the landing. This emphasises how powerless she is more than how it would have looked if filming at one of the farm houses.

Instead of the reservoir, we thought to film at the duck pond in Saffron Walden. Unfortunately, there is construction work going on and so the pond in Linton is our new location.
